Apple's 2027 iPad Pro: Dual M7 Chips & iPhone-Style Liquid Cooling Leak
According to multiple sources, Apple plans a major internal upgrade for the iPad Pro lineup in the spring of 2027, covering both the 11-inch and 13-inch models. The most significant change is that the new iPad Pro is expected to debut the all-new M7 series chips and introduce a "dual-chip strategy"—offering both standard M7 and M7 Pro configurations—to better cater to the specific needs of different user segments. Regarding chip specifications, Apple will focus on enhancing on-device AI processing capabilities; the memory bandwidth for the standard version is expected to see a substantial increase to approximately 240GB/s. This upgrade effectively eliminates major data transfer bottlenecks when handling complex tasks such as running large on-device AI models and AI-driven image generation, thereby delivering a smoother user experience for professional creators.

Beyond the massive leap in computing power, the thermal management system is also getting a crucial overhaul. The new iPad Pro is expected to adopt the same vapor chamber (VC) cooling technology found in the iPhone 17 Pro, utilizing internal liquid circulation to rapidly dissipate heat from the chip. This change directly addresses the previous iPad Pro's tendency to overheat and throttle performance during prolonged, high-load tasks, enabling a significant boost in sustained performance.
