Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 Is Samsung's New AI Notebook
Somewhat surprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 arrives, the first laptop with integrated AI thanks to Copilot+. A notebook with an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor with up to 47 TOP NPUs and more than 300 AI-accelerated functions in more than 100 creativity, productivity, gaming, and entertainment applications. The new Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is a slim and light device. It maintains the dimensions of its predecessor (355.4 x 252.2 x 12.8 mm), but increases slightly in weight. It goes from 1.66 kg to 1.69 kg . We also find recycled materials such as plastic, aluminum and glass, as well as availability in gray and silver colors.
One of the strong points of this proposal is its display panel, although there are not too many changes compared to the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 announced last year. We again see a 16-inch WQXGA + AMOLED touchscreen with an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, but with a brightness of 500 nits instead of 400 nits.
At the processor level, Samsung allows us to choose between an Intel Core Ultra 7 or Intel Core Ultra 5 , both from the recently introduced Core Ultra 200V (Series 2) family . These are 'Lunar Lake' chips that aim to offer enough computing power to run artificial intelligence apps, specifically, up to 47 TOPs of NPU performance.
In the graphics section we find the only possibility of using Intel ARC chips. Here, the South Korean manufacturer claims that the performance jump in relation to the previous generation equipment is 18%. This can be a good option for working with various devices in combination with the aforementioned Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen. The sound system is quad-stereo, optimized by AKG with Dolby Atmos.
There are no changes in memory and storage capacity. Like last year's model, we have 16/32GB and 512GB/1 TB configurations as alternatives this year. The battery capacity is 76 Wh and charges at 65 W Charge via the USB-C adapter. That is, there are no new features in this section.
Samsung is also advertising more than 300 AI-powered enhancements across a range of apps for creativity, productivity, gaming, and entertainment.
Samsung has, however, updated the connectivity section. We have gone from WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 in the previous version to WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 in this version. We also find two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB A port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD slot and a 3.5 mm headphone jack port.
Price and Availability
The South Korean company has not yet announced the price of the new Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360. So,we'll have to wait and see how much this device will cost for other countries. For now, we know that the convertible will first land in selected markets such as Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States starting on September 24, 2024 .
