Super light and inspired by Apple Vision Pro
Pimax Dream Air weighs less than 200 grams, providing a comfortable feeling of use even when experiencing for a long time. The product's design stands out with fabric covering the sides and front, creating a familiar and high-end feel, quite similar to the style of Apple Vision Pro.
The big difference with the Pimax Dream Air is that it is not capable of operating independently. Pimax's new glasses require an external power source and the device does not have an integrated processor (SoC). To use, the Pimax Dream Air needs to be connected via a 5-meter USB-C port, which supports content transmission via DisplayPort.
Pimax Dream Air offers a superior visual experience thanks to a resolution of 3,840 x 3,552 pixels for each eye, ensuring sharp, detailed images. The screen uses micro OLED technology with a 90 Hz refresh rate, providing smoother images compared to some current glasses models. Specifically, the equipment and technology:
- Field of View (FOV): With a wide 102° field of view, users will be immersed in a realistic virtual reality space.
- Smart tracking and adjustment: Supports hand tracking and eye tracking, enhancing interactivity and accuracy when using. Automatically adjusts interpupillary distance (IPD), suitable for many users.
- Motion tracking technology: Dream Air supports both SLAM tracking and Lighthouse tracking, allowing users to choose the technology that best suits their needs.
- Dream Air is equipped with a built-in microphone and speaker, providing a convenient audio solution without the need for additional accessories.
The Pimax Dream Air combines a sleek design, lightweight build, excellent display quality, and modern features. However, it does have some limitations, most notably its reliance on external media players.
At $1,199, the Dream Air isn’t for everyone, especially since shipping and taxes can add up to a significant price tag. However, for those looking to invest in a high-quality VR headset, it’s definitely worth considering.
