A recent leak from a German tech publication has unveiled the detailed specifications for Samsung's next-generation smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch9 series and the premium Galaxy Watch Ultra2. The information provides a comprehensive overview of what to expect from the upcoming devices.
Samsung Galaxy Watch9 Series
The standard Galaxy Watch9 series will be available in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm. The 40mm model is reported to feature a 1.3-inch circular display with a 438 x 438 resolution, while the larger 44mm version will boast a 1.5-inch screen with a 480 x 480 resolution.
According to the report, both models will feature an aluminum alloy case and a 5ATM water resistance rating, making them suitable for swimming. They are expected to come pre-installed with the Wear OS 7 system.
Internally, the Galaxy Watch9 series will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite (SW6100) chip, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This hardware configuration suggests a significant performance capability for the new lineup.
In terms of battery, the 40mm version will house a 325mAh battery, while the 44mm model will be equipped with a larger 445mAh battery. Connectivity options are robust, including Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and dual-band Wi-Fi, with an optional LTE cellular version available for both sizes.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
For those seeking a more premium and rugged option, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 will come in a single 47mm size. It features a 1.5-inch display with a 480 x 480 resolution, housed in a durable titanium case. Its water resistance is upgraded to 10ATM, indicating enhanced durability for more demanding activities.
The Ultra2 model will use the same SW6100 chip and 2GB of RAM as the standard Watch9 series but doubles the storage to 64GB. It is also equipped with a substantial 800mAh battery. Standard connectivity includes Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, and LTE. The leak suggests a European price point of €749.
