AMD Zen 6 Mobile Roadmap Leaked: Gator Range for High-End Gaming, Medusa with 22-Core Hybrid Design

A recently surfaced internal roadmap, reportedly from an OEM manufacturer named Seleno, has revealed AMD's plans for its next generation of mobile processors. This leak offers a first look at the Zen 6 architecture, confirming the development of new product lines codenamed Gator Range and Medusa, which are set to define the company's mobile strategy from 2026 to 2027.

The leaked information outlines three major new lineups designed to cover the entire spectrum of the notebook market:

Gator Range “HX”
This series is positioned as the flagship for high-end gaming and computing laptops, serving as the successor to the current Fire Range “HX” family. Early information suggests specifications could reach up to 24 cores and 32 threads. As the Fire Range series operates with a TDP of 55W and above, Gator Range is expected to fall within a similar power consumption range to deliver top-tier performance.

Medusa Point
Set to take over from the Strix Point line, the Medusa Point series will target both high-end and mainstream notebooks. These processors will be based on a 3nm Zen 6 architecture, featuring a hybrid design that combines Zen 6 and Zen 6C cores on the FP10 platform. Leaks suggest a maximum configuration of 22 cores, composed of 4 Zen 6 cores, 4 Zen 6C cores, 2 low-power LP Zen 6 cores, and an external 12-core Zen 6 CCD. It is also expected to integrate an 8 CU RDNA 3.5+ iGPU.

Medusa BB
Targeting the mainstream market, the Medusa BB series is expected to power future Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 products. This lineup will feature up to 10 cores (4 Zen 6 + 4 Zen 6C + 2 LP Zen 6) and will also include the 8 CU RDNA 3.5 iGPU, bringing powerful integrated graphics to more accessible devices.

According to the roadmap, the Gator Range, Medusa Point, and Medusa BB series are slated for launch as early as 2027. It is important to note that this timeline might be specific to the OEM from which the document leaked. AMD is anticipated to officially announce the Zen 6 architecture in 2026, with more details possibly emerging at the AMD Financial Analyst Day in November of this year.
