Apple Kicks Off 2026 Heart Month Challenge on Valentine's Day

Apple has announced its annual "Heart Month Challenge" for 2026, inviting all Apple Watch users to participate on Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14th.

This event has become a yearly tradition designed to encourage users to focus on their cardiovascular health. By tying the challenge to a day of celebration, Apple aims to inspire people to incorporate heart-healthy exercise into their daily routines.

Participating in the challenge is straightforward: simply close your green Exercise ring on Valentine's Day. The Exercise ring tracks minutes of brisk activity, so users will need to complete a set duration of exercise like a brisk walk, run, or another high-intensity workout. The Apple Watch monitors heart rate and movement to ensure that only activity of a sufficient intensity counts toward closing the ring.

For flexibility, users can track their activity using the native Workout app on their Apple Watch or any compatible third-party app that writes data to Apple's Health database, such as Nike Run Club or Strava. As long as the data syncs correctly, any qualifying workout, whether at the gym or outdoors, will contribute to your progress.

To motivate users, Apple is offering collectible digital rewards for completing the challenge. Upon closing the Exercise ring on February 14th, you will unlock an exclusive 2026 "Heart Month Challenge" badge in the Fitness app on your iPhone. You will also receive a special set of animated iMessage stickers to share.
