CMF Buds 2 Officially Launched with Enhanced Features, Priced at €39.95

Nothing's teaser campaign for the upcoming CMF Phone 2 Pro is in full swing, with the phone's release date set for April 28. Alongside this device, the brand has unveiled the CMF Buds 2, which are now available for order on the official Nothing website

CMF Buds 2 Launched

The new headphones continue the design language typical of CMF by Nothing. The color options for the headphones are light green, dark gray, and CMF's signature color, orange. The headphones come with three different sizes of earplugs that seal the ear canal.

The headphones are equipped with 11mm speaker drivers, which are smaller than the 12.4mm drivers in the previous CMF Buds. The drivers use PMI (Polymethacrylimide) and PU materials. The earphones are IP55-rated for dust protection and splash resistance.

CMF Buds 2 features

Despite the smaller size of the drivers, Nothing promises improved sound quality thanks to Dirac Opteo tuning, among other things. There is also Ultra Bass Technology 2.0, which enhances the reproduction of low sounds. Only the standard SBC and AAC audio codecs are supported. The sound can be adjusted with an equalizer, and the headphones also support surround sound playback.

CMF Buds 2 design

The active noise cancellation of the CMF Buds 2 headphones now reduces external sounds by up to 48 dB, compared to the previous 42 dB, and operates in a frequency range of 5,200 Hz. There are six microphones in total, three on each earbud. The sound quality during calls is improved by Clear Voice Technology 3.0 and Wind Noise Reduction 3.0.

The battery life of the headphones is up to 7.5 hours with noise cancellation or 13.5 hours without it. Together with the charging case, the listening time reaches 32 or 55 hours, respectively. The talk time of the headphones is 7 hours with noise cancellation and 8.5 hours without it.

A 10-minute quick charge gives the headphones up to 2.4 hours of listening time with noise cancellation or 4 hours without. Together with the case, a 10-minute quick charge gives 4 and 7.5 hours of listening time, respectively. The headphones have a 53mAh battery, and the charging case has a 460mAh battery.

The headphones support Bluetooth 5.4 and can be connected to two devices simultaneously. The headphones are controlled using the Nothing X app. Quick pairing is possible with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. The headphones support standard touch functions for controlling audio and calls.

The CMF Buds 2 headphones also support the use of the ChatGPT artificial intelligence service thanks to app integration. In practice, the headphones can be used with the ChatGPT audio mode via a paired phone.

Priced at $59/€49.95/£39, pre-orders will receive a discount of €10/£5. Deliveries are expected to begin on April 18.
