Sam Altman Has Been Reinstated as the OpenAI CEO

In the space of less than a week, OpenAI’s Sam Altman has been removed and reinstated as the CEO of the company. The New York Times reports that Alman was removed from his position following a decision by the OpenAI board, and he was given back his power after a successful campaign by his allies and investors. 

The company’s president who had resigned in solidarity with Altman, Greg Brockman, will also be returning to his position, and the OpenAI board will be completely overhauled. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared a statement on X in support of the decision, saying that he felt encouraged by the changes to the OpenAI board which will now feature Bret Taylor and Lawrence Summers.

Eminem Joins Fortnite

It’s been confirmed that rapper Marshall Mathers, popularly known as Eminem, will become the newest real-life superstar to be featured on Fortnite. According to the report on Game Informer, the Grammy Award winner will be added to the item shop on November 29 in three versions known as Rap Boy, Slim Shady, and Marshall Never More. 

Eminem joins big names like Travis Scott and Lebron James as a Fortnite character and it’s reported that he’ll be performing a live concert at the Fortnite Big Bang Event scheduled to take place on December 2, only a few days after the release.

Tim Cook Speaks on His Future Successor at Apple

In a recent interview with the BBC’s Dua Lipa, Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke about what it takes to run one of the most successful companies in the world. When asked about the company’s plans for the future, Cook revealed that when the time comes, the new Apple CEO will be someone from within the company. Without revealing any names, the CEO also mentioned that a few people are already being prepared for the role.

At the time of his appointment, Tim Cook had spoken about remaining in the position for 10 years. He has served as the CEO of Apple for 12 years and has not made any mention of stepping down.

Bard Can Now Watch YouTube Videos For You 

Bard has a new feature that makes it easier to do research without spending time watching entire YouTube videos. The YouTube extension allows the Google chatbot to essentially watch videos for you and take note of important points based on a prompt, and then relay the information back in chat format.

The YouTube extension is currently only available to those who have signed up to Google Labs, the platform that allows users to test out ideas before they’re officially released. In the test conducted by The Verge, Bard successfully analyzed the video to provide the recipe for a very specific Espresso Martini

Leaked Images of the Galaxy Fit 3 Reveal Changes

We’ve been waiting on a new fitness tracker from Samsung since 2020 when they released the Galaxy Fit 2. And since 2023 is drawing to a close, it’s unlikely that we’ll see one before the year ends. However, following a series of leaked images and new stats from regulators, it’s possible that we may see the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 launched alongside the Galaxy S24 in January of 2024.

Newly leaked information from Sam Mobile and other sources point at the possibility of the Galaxy Fit 3 having a larger screen than its predecessor, as well as three unofficial colors which are expected to be gold, black, and gray. Tech Radar has shared some of the improvements they hope to see on the new fitness tracker including more accurate heart rate monitoring and GPS capabilities.

X Is Suing Media Matters for Its Tarnishing Report

The media watchdog Media Matters has received a lawsuit from Elon Musk’s social media company X following a report that caused a large number of their advertisers to cut ties with them. A report by CNN notes that the lawsuit accuses Media Matters of “knowingly and maliciously” distorting facts, and X is calling for watchdog to remove the analysis from its website.

The progressive watchdog recently released an analysis that allegedly highlights antisemitic and pro-Nazi content on the social media platform using pictures that X claims have been manipulated. Media Matters president Angelo Carusone says that this lawsuit is an attempt to bully them into silence
