Nubia's iMoochi AI Pet Robot: A New Breed of Emotional Companion Launching July 17
Nubia has officially announced the launch of its innovative AI companion, iMoochi, scheduled to go live on July 17th at 10 AM across the ZTE Mall and other major e-commerce platforms. First unveiled by ZTE at the Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC26), iMoochi is an emotional companion AI pet robot specifically designed to address the emotional needs of urban individuals living alone, establishing a unique presence in the current AI hardware landscape.

At the core of iMoochi's appeal is its lifelike interactive experience. The robot is designed to respond to touch with a variety of feedback; actions like a light pat on the head or continuous stroking will trigger multi-dimensional responses such as head shaking, tail wagging, and vocalizations. This interactivity is enhanced by its fluffy exterior and a "cloud-like" feel, which aims to provide a greater sense of warmth and comfort to the user.
A standout feature is iMoochi's ability to develop a unique "personality" and "life rhythm" as it spends more time with its owner. It can exhibit擬-lifelike behaviors such as yawning, sensing hunger or temperature changes, and even initiating playtime on its own. Furthermore, iMoochi has its own exclusive language system. To avoid the unsettling "uncanny valley" effect of a synthetic human voice, it communicates using custom cute sounds and a unique "iMoochi language," including purrs and giggles, created by professional voice actors.

Under the hood, iMoochi is powered by the UNISOC T8300 chip and equipped with five touch sensors plus a gravity sensor to enable its dynamic responses. It supports voiceprint recognition to identify its owner and facilitates memory and growth over time. A companion app allows for device management, viewing a companion diary, and checking the robot's emotional status, adding another layer to the interactive experience. To suit different user preferences, iMoochi will be available in five personality models, including Hopami (lively), Mimiu (quiet), and Cynomi (mischievous).
