GalaxyCore Unveils World's First Single-Chip 50MP Sensors with 0.64μm and 0.8μm Pixels

GalaxyCore has officially announced the global debut of two groundbreaking single-chip 50-megapixel CMOS image sensors designed for mobile devices: the GC50E0, featuring 0.64μm pixels, and the GC50M0, with 0.8μm pixels.

Both new sensors are developed based on GalaxyCore's latest G-Pix FSI technology. They employ a single-chip integrated circuit design, which places both the logic circuit layer and the pixel layer on the same wafer. This streamlined architecture represents a significant advancement in sensor manufacturing.

According to the official announcement, this single-chip design provides several key advantages over conventional stacked sensor designs. These benefits include a smaller physical footprint, lower power consumption, and improved cost-effectiveness. This makes the sensors ideal for a wide range of smartphone camera applications, offering manufacturers more flexibility for main, ultra-wide, and telephoto camera modules.

The GC50E0 sensor has a 1/2.51-inch optical format and supports 4-in-1 pixel binning technology. This allows it to create an equivalent 1.28μm large fusion pixel for enhanced light capture in various conditions. The sensor also supports video recording at 30 frames per second.
