Huawei's Spring Launch: A Super-Performance Flagship Debuts and Old Favorites Return

On March 23, Huawei hosted its spring full-scenario product launch event in Changsha, unveiling a wide array of new devices. The excitement was palpable, with fans eagerly anticipating the announcements, especially for the flagship Mate 80 Pro Max Fengchi Edition and the completely revamped Enjoy 90 series.

Four New Phones, Each with Its Own Character

Mate 80 Pro Max Fengchi Edition: Huawei's First Super-Performance Flagship

The star of the show was undoubtedly the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Fengchi Edition. This is Huawei's first smartphone to feature an active cooling system, positioning it as a top-tier “super-performance flagship” with the most powerful imaging configuration among its peers. This technology unlocks the full potential of the Kirin 9030 chipset, which was previously limited by manufacturing process constraints. With active cooling, the phone's overall performance can be boosted by up to 45%.

In gaming tests, Huawei reported an 11% increase in the average frame rate for *Peacekeeper Elite* without overheating or throttling during long sessions. It will also be the first to support the 90fps mode for *Arena Breakout* with 30-million-line hardware ray tracing. The cooling system, featuring a bionic wing turbine and superconducting fins, is remarkably quiet and allows the device to maintain an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating (and even IP69 when the fan is off). To accommodate the cooling module, the phone features a single, more powerful periscope telephoto lens instead of the dual setup on the standard model—a trade-off many power users will likely accept for the significant performance gains.

Enjoy 90 Series: A Comprehensively Upgraded Entry-Level HarmonyOS

The Enjoy 90 series marks a significant comeback, with all models now equipped with Kirin 8-series processors. This move completes Huawei's transition to Kirin chips across its entire smartphone lineup. The series includes the standard, Plus, and Pro Max versions, all featuring support for 5G-A networks, WiFi-7, and multi-frequency GPS and Beidou positioning. The Enjoy 90 Pro Max stands out with its Kirin 8000 chip, a massive 8500mAh battery, a premium Star Ring design, and a 1.5K high-refresh-rate OLED display with 4000 nits peak brightness. It also boasts a 50MP RYYB main camera, bringing flagship-level imaging sensors to the entry-level segment for the first time.

Comprehensive Band Upgrades, A Godsend for Runners Arrives

Huawei also updated its wearable lineup with four new devices. The Huawei Band 11 and 11 Pro feature distinct designs; the Pro model has a slim 8.99mm aluminum alloy body and adds five-star GNSS support for precise outdoor tracking. Both bands gain advanced health features, including all-day HRV monitoring and arrhythmia alerts. For high-end users, the WATCH Ultimate 2 arrives with an upgraded Zirconium alloy case, a 3500-nit screen, Beidou satellite messaging, and professional-grade features for golf. After a five-year wait, the WATCH GT Runner 2 makes its return. Built with aerospace-grade titanium, it weighs only 43.5g and features a new antenna architecture that boosts signal strength by 250%. Co-developed with marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge's team, it introduces industry-first algorithms for lactate threshold detection and running power metrics.

The ultra-thin TV can be mounted almost flush against the wall for a minimalist aesthetic. In another long-awaited return, Huawei relaunched its MateView GT monitor line after five years. The lineup includes a 27-inch 2K 200Hz model and a 27-inch dual-mode model (4K 160Hz / 1080P 320Hz). Both feature a "Cloudy Soft Light Screen" for anti-glare eye protection. A unique "Sound" version is also available, integrating a 4.1-channel speaker system for immersive audio without external speakers.
