xLean Robotics Debuts World’s First Dual-Form Cleaning Robot at IFA 2025
Sept. 1, 2025 – xLean Robotics, a startup from CUHK’s renowned Robotics Institute, is set to unveil its flagship product, the xLean TR1, at IFA 2025 (Hall 25, Booth 260) from September 5–9. The world’s first dual-form transformable floor washing robot, TR1, is designed to tackle both everyday deep cleaning and quick spot messes with ease.
Dual-Form Design: Robot + Handheld in One

Robot mode: Uses multi-sensor fusion and Reinforcement Learning to navigate tight spaces. Its square body and 800 RPM dual-roller mop ensure full corner coverage.

Handheld mode: Switchable in one second via an electric lock. Offers bi-directional assistance for easy spot cleaning and learns from user behavior to refine its robotic performance.
With Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), the TR1 adapts to human cleaning habits. With user consent, anonymized data is securely shared to the cloud, enabling Self-Evolving Intelligence via OTA updates.
Breakthrough Cleaning Tech
The TR1 introduces Dual-Motor DirectSuction™, a new solution for messy spills and solid–liquid mixtures. Unlike traditional mop-vac combos, it uses high negative pressure to capture solids and liquids in one step.
To achieve this in a compact body, xLean developed VortexMatrix™ Separation Technology, refined through 40+ iterations and 3 years of simulation and prototyping.
