Redmi Turbo 5 Officially Revealed: Dimensity 8500-Ultra, a Massive 7560mAh Battery, and a Launch Tomorrow

Xiaomi's Redmi brand is gearing up for a major release, officially teasing the standard version of the Redmi Turbo 5. Positioned as a "more textured performance phone in the 2K price range," the new device is scheduled for a formal launch January 29th.

In terms of design and feel, official teasers reveal that the Redmi Turbo 5 features a premium build with a metal middle frame and a glass back panel. This is complemented by large rounded corners, narrow bezels, and a balanced weight distribution, aiming to provide a combination of premium texture, durability, and an enhanced in-hand feel.

The device sports a 6.59-inch mid-size display and packs an impressive 7560mAh battery. For charging, it supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, and notably, it is also compatible with the 100W PPS fast charging protocol, offering versatile and rapid power-up options.

Under the hood, the Redmi Turbo 5 is among the first to be powered by the Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor, built on a 4nm process. This is paired with an LPDDR5 Ultra and UFS 4.1 storage combination. To manage thermals, it incorporates a flagship-grade 3D ice-sealed circulation cooling pump. The device also features the latest "Rage Engine," which is claimed to provide integrated frequency modulation for the CPU, GPU, and DDR.

The screen is another highlight, featuring the same "Super Sunlight Screen" as the Max version, which uses M10 luminescent material to achieve a peak brightness of 3500 nits and supports Xiaomi's Qingshan eye protection technology. For durability, the phone boasts impressive IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K water resistance ratings. Other notable features include kilometer-level communication without a network, interconnectivity with Apple devices, and seamless file and notification transfers.


With both the standard and Max versions set for the January 29th launch, the Redmi Turbo 5 series is shaping up to be a formidable new entry, blending top-tier performance, exceptional battery life, and a robust, premium design.
