Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra May Ditch Vertical Camera Bump for Horizontal Layout

A newly surfaced design patent suggests Samsung could be planning a major redesign for a future flagship—potentially the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
According to a report from sammyguru , the design was spotted in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) global design database.
The biggest change? A horizontal camera module. Unlike the vertical camera arrays Samsung has used in recent Galaxy S generations, this new design features three cameras arranged side by side within a single horizontal housing. The rest of the phone's silhouette, however, stays familiar—rounded corners and flat edges appear to remain intact.

If this patent makes it to production, the Galaxy S27 Ultra would mark a significant departure from Samsung's current design language. Of course, patents don't always become products, but the timing aligns with when we'd expect early S27 Ultra concepts to surface.
