Bigme Unveils HiBreak Dual 2: The World's First Large Dual-Screen Color E-Ink Smartphone

Bigme has officially announced the upcoming launch of a groundbreaking new device: the HiBreak Dual 2. The company is positioning this new model as the world's first large dual-screen color E-ink smartphone, aiming to merge the best of e-reading and conventional smartphone functionality into a single, powerful package.

At the heart of the HiBreak Dual 2 is the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor. This high-performance chipset has reportedly enabled the device to achieve an impressive AnTuTu benchmark score of over 1.6 million, suggesting flagship-level speed and responsiveness. The phone’s main feature is its dual-display setup, which includes a 6.13-inch color and monochrome E-ink screen as the primary display, complemented by a 5.0-inch LCD screen on the back.

This new device marks a significant evolution from the company's previous attempt at a dual-screen phone. Earlier in April, Bigme released a model featuring a Dimensity 1080 processor with both an E-ink and an LCD screen. However, that device disappointed some users because its LCD was merely a small, circular secondary display on the back, which was not practical for use as a main screen.

In response to customer feedback, Bigme issued a public statement of 'reflection and apology' regarding the previous HiBreak Dual model. In that announcement, the company acknowledged the shortcomings and confirmed that a true dual-screen phone, featuring both a large E-ink panel and a fully functional LCD panel, had been officially added to its research and development pipeline.

The announcement of the HiBreak Dual 2 appears to be the fulfillment of that promise. By equipping the phone with two large, usable screens and a top-tier processor, Bigme is aiming to deliver a versatile device that caters to both avid readers who prefer the eye-friendly nature of E-ink and users who need the vibrant, fast-refresh experience of an LCD for media consumption and gaming.
