Featherlight Power: iiyama PC Unveils Sub-900g Laptop with Intel's Latest Core Ultra Processors

Japanese computer company UNITCOM has officially launched a new series of ultra-lightweight laptops under its iiyama PC brand. Announced on May 13th, these new devices are powered by Intel's third-generation Core Ultra "Panther Lake" processors, setting a new benchmark for performance in a highly portable form factor.

The headline feature of this lineup is its remarkable design, which prioritizes mobility without compromise. The laptop boasts a profile that is just 16.9mm at its thinnest point and has a maximum weight of only 899 grams. Some configurations are even lighter, weighing in at approximately 830 grams. Complementing the sleek chassis is a stunning 1920×1200 resolution OLED display that covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, promising exceptionally vivid and accurate visuals for both work and entertainment.

Under the hood, customers can choose from a range of Intel's newest CPUs, including the Core Ultra X7 358H, Ultra 7 355, and Ultra 5 325. To enhance the user experience, the device is equipped with a comfortable 0.2mm micro-concave keyboard, a 2MP camera system with support for Windows Hello facial recognition, and the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard for ultra-fast wireless connectivity.

Despite its slim profile, the laptop offers a generous array of ports, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A ports, one HDMI output, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Regarding pricing, the base model with a Core Ultra 5 325 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 500GB SSD is priced at approximately $1,400 USD. A higher-end configuration with a Core Ultra 7 355 CPU, 32GB of RAM, and a 500GB SSD is available for ¥259,800 (approximately $1,660 USD).
