1 million BYD, who‘s behind this?

After throwing the question "Will you buy a 1 million BYD?" to different colleagues, almost all they get is a "question mark face"-like expression. But BYD has already started to do this. Recently, BYD announced the latest high-end terminal brand "Looking up to the car".

BYD said that the company's high-end car brands look up to build high-end brands with disruptive technologies and products, bring together a complete industrial layout, cutting-edge technological achievements, and innovative design concepts to elevate the safety and performance of new energy vehicles to new heights. . According to media reports, the "Looking Up to the Brand" model may be officially unveiled at the end of this year, with a price range of 800,000-1.5 million yuan. It is regarded as the spy photos of the brand's first model "BYD G Wagon", and it has been frequently exposed on the Internet in recent months.

From the spy photos, this model is a hard-core off-road vehicle, which is similar to Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-Benz G. Class-level luxury off-road vehicles or positioning close.

This is not the first time that BYD has hit the high-end. In 2010, Daimler and BYD announced a 50-50 joint venture to jointly create a new brand of new energy vehicles.

The brand was named Denza in 2012, and its first new car was launched in 2014. With the help of Mercedes-Benz to hit the high-end, Denza has not achieved the expected results. Since the release of the first model in 2014, the Denza brand has sold less than 30,000 vehicles in total, and has also incurred billions of losses. At the end of 2021, Denshi finally changed. BYD announced that the two parties have signed an equity transfer agreement, and the shareholding ratio has changed from the previous 50:50 to 90% of BYD's shares and Daimler's 10%.

In May 2022, the Denza brand and its first model, the D9, will be re-launched. Beginning in October, with the official delivery of Denza D9, BYD's new round of high-end strategy also officially began. Looking up to the appearance of the car proves that BYD has greater ambitions.

First, is BYD empowering Audi? But to say that BYD's recent brand potential is indeed going up in waves. There has been a recent online rumor that BYD will supply FAW Audi with the DM-i powertrain to create the A4L DM-i. However, Li Yunfei, general manager of BYD's auto brand and public relations department, responded in the circle of friends, "This online rumor is false news!". Source: Network If you think about it carefully, this rumor is really outrageous. Audi, which has always emphasized technical attributes, does not seem to lack hybrid technology.
