FSP U661 workstation case debuts with three 16030 fans

FSP U661 workstation case has launched for dual-GPU artificial intelligence setups, bringing three pre-installed 16030 front intake fans and dual expansion card brackets without disclosing official retail pricing. Built for heavy multi-GPU compute tasks, the chassis accommodates large server-grade motherboards while relying on dense sound-dampening panels that may restrict airflow compared to open-mesh designs.

Chassis Construction and Hardware Compatibility

The FSP U661 measures 450 mm by 258 mm by 468 mm and is constructed from 0.8 mm SPCC steel. To manage acoustic output during demanding AI compute cycles, the interior surfaces integrate dedicated sound-insulating materials.

For core hardware installations, the chassis supports broad motherboard form factors up to SSI-EEB and E-ATX. Internal clearances allow expansion cards up to 420 mm in length, standard ATX power supplies up to 230 mm, and CPU air coolers up to 177 mm in height. It features 9 expansion slots alongside integrated dual-card anti-sag brackets to properly stabilize heavy parallel graphics accelerators.

Cooling Capacities and Storage Options

Thermal management relies on large-format ventilation points across the chassis frame:

  • Front panel: Pre-installed with three 16030 fans for intake
  • Rear exhaust: Pre-installed with one 12025 fan, with support for optional 140 mm fans
  • Top mount: Supports three 120 mm or 140 mm fans, compatible with up to 360 mm liquid cooling radiators

For system storage, the chassis provides multiple drive bays accommodating both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives. Front I/O connectivity located on the exterior includes two USB-A 5Gbps ports alongside a single USB-C port.

Given the acoustic dampening layer combined with oversized 16030 fans, how effectively do you expect this enclosure to balance thermal dissipation against noise levels during sustained multi-GPU AI training workloads?
