OPPO Watch 5 Revealed: Slim 9.2mm Frame Set for November

The OPPO Watch 5 has surfaced ahead of its expected November release, targeting the entry-level 1,000-yuan bracket with a slim form factor aimed at health and fitness tracking. Its headline advancement is an ultra-thin 9.2mm profile paired with a sub-27-gram weight, though it trades the stainless steel and ceramic materials of the preceding Watch 4 Pro for an aluminum build.

The upcoming wearable was first spotted in the wild on the wrist of singer Song Yuqi during a recent concert appearance, sparking online discussions ahead of the official unveiling. Reservation pages for the smartwatch have already gone live on OPPO's official portal, providing early confirmation of its physical design direction.

Chassis Design and Physical Dimensions

Official promotional material reveals that the wearable returns to a rectangular aesthetic, accented by a functional rotating crown positioned at the upper-right corner of the chassis. Industry insider Digital Chat Station reported hands-on impressions of the device, emphasizing that it aims to be the thinnest smartwatch in its market segment at approximately 9.2mm.

Constructed with an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy middle frame, the case weighs less than 27 grams—lighter than a standard tube of lipstick. The hardware incorporates an ultra-bright square display with uniform, ultra-narrow bezels, balancing compact dimensions with extended battery endurance.

Positioning and Ecosystem Lineup

According to OPPO Smart Ecosystem Product Director Qiao Jiadong, the smartwatch is scheduled to debut officially alongside the Reno 17 smartphone lineup and the Pad Air 6 tablet. Software features will place a strong emphasis on women's health metrics and targeted fat-burning workout routines.

This release marks an accessible pivot within the company's wearable roadmap. While the earlier OPPO Watch 4 Pro targeted the premium segment with a Snapdragon W5 and BES 2700 dual-chip setup, standalone eSIM support, and a starting price of 2,299 yuan, the Watch 5 shifts focus toward an ultra-lightweight, mainstream audience.

How do you view OPPO's decision to prioritize an ultra-thin 9.2mm frame over the heavier stainless steel builds of past flagships, and does a sub-27g weight matter more to your daily fitness routine than premium materials?
