Clicks Communicator: The $649 Full-Keyboard Phone Positioned as Your "Second Device" Ships in December
Clicks' first smartphone, the Clicks Communicator, is set to begin shipping in December — nearly a year after its debut at CES 2026.
Price Hike Incoming: Pre-Order Before October 1
Ahead of its official launch, the production model has received several spec upgrades — but the price is going up too. Users can still pre-order at the original $499 (≈ ¥3,350) for now; after October 1, the price jumps to $649.
Upgraded Specs
The Communicator's memory has been bumped from the originally planned 8GB to 12GB, and the battery has grown from 4000mAh to 4350mAh, rated to withstand over 800 charge cycles. The phone ships with Android 17 out of the box, with OS updates promised through Android 20, plus 5 years of security updates.
BlackBerry Nostalgia, Modern Hardware
Design-wise, the Communicator blends a distinctive look with retro charm. Inspired by classic BlackBerry phones, it keeps a physical QWERTY keyboard below its 4.03-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. Under the hood, there's a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip, 256GB of storage with microSD expansion, a 50MP rear camera, a 24MP front camera — and yes, it keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack.
A Keyboard That Does More
The physical keyboard itself takes on extra duties. Its surface is touch-sensitive, so you can scroll pages and navigate by simply swiping across the keys, and the space bar doubles as a standalone fingerprint reader. Beyond the English QWERTY layout, Clicks is also preparing French AZERTY, German QWERTZ, Korean, and Arabic versions.
A Phone for Messaging, Not Doomscrolling
Clicks positions the Communicator as a second phone that's better for texting and calling — one that helps you break the cycle of endless scrolling. The company calls it "a new kind of mobile communication device."
