Features to Expect On the Next Generation iPad Air
The upcoming iPad Air line could be the biggest update to date, as Apple first announced plans to introduce a model with a larger shape, measuring 12.9 inches. In this article, we will take a look at three rumored features for the next iPad Air.
The figure is 12.9 inches larger
In 2020, Apple launched the iPad Air line with a 10.9-inch screen and a flat border design similar to the iPad Pro. This year, the company plans to retain that design style but expand it to a new design with a 12.9-inch screen. This marks the first time the iPad Air has two screen sizes and is classified like the iPad Pro line. The screen of the 12.9-inch iPad Air will use the same LCD screen as the 10.9-inch model.
The rear camera will be changed like the iPhone X models.
The rear camera frame is slimmer.
According to leaked diagrams from Apple's supply chain, the new iPad Air models will have a redesigned protruding camera. Compared to previous models that only had a single circular camera cutout on the back, the new models are said to have a vertical camera bump, reminiscent of the design of previous iPhone models such as the iPhone X.
The camera and flash will be placed in the same module, making it larger and slightly more convex than the back. This could be a step forward in improving the internal camera arc. Magic Keyboard remains the same as the current version with only a few minor improvements.
Magic Keyboard for iPad Air
Although there are rumors that Apple will bring a new Magic Keyboard to the iPad Pro with a streamlined design and a more laptop-like experience, it seems unlikely that the iPad Air will receive this improvement.
According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the new Magic Keyboard will be exclusive to the iPad Pro line, while the iPad Air will continue to use the current Magic Keyboard and only have some minor improvements compared to the current version.
New iPad Air models are expected to be released in the third month of this year, with performance upgrades that can use either the M2 or M3 chip. In addition, users can also expect new color options from Apple.
