Yamaha Expands Premium Hi-Fi Lineup with YH-C3000 and YH-4000 Headphones

Yamaha has officially announced an expansion of its high-end Hi-Fi headphone lineup with the introduction of two new over-ear models: the YH-C3000, which utilizes a dynamic driver, and the YH-4000, featuring a planar magnetic driver. These models join the flagship YH-5000SE, solidifying Yamaha's presence in the premium audio market.

The YH-C3000 features a closed-back, dynamic driver design. It is equipped with an ARMODYNAMIC driver unit that incorporates a three-layer composite diaphragm, a Y-shaped mesh damper, and rear vents. This configuration is engineered to deliver high-resolution audio while minimizing distortion. The earcups are crafted from mirror-finished, painted beech wood. For comfort, the YH-C3000 includes a dual-layer headband with a padded section and stainless steel support arms for stepless micro-adjustments, while the earpads are made from a combination of silk protein leather and memory foam. The headphones come with a 2-meter unbalanced, silver-plated OFC cable.

The YH-4000 is equipped with Yamaha's signature ORTHODYNAMIC planar magnetic driver, which has been specially adjusted for this model. It boasts an open-back design with a large acoustic volume space and a PET mesh filter to regulate internal pressure within the housing. The earpad frames of the YH-4000 are constructed from lightweight magnesium alloy. The inner surface of the earpads is finished with a high-quality suede-like artificial leather, while the outer ring is made of soft PU leather. It also features a dual-layer headband and is supplied with a 2-meter unbalanced, silver-plated OFC cable.

The YH-C3000 will be available from October 2025, and the YH-4000 is currently scheduled for January 2026. Global pricing hasn't been announced just yet, but the US price is $1,699 (about £1,256 / AU$2,574 before taxes) for the YH-C3000 and $2,499 (about £1,849 / AU$3,785) for the YH-4000.
