ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE Specs and Images Leaked

In November last year, ASUS launched the ROG Phone 9 series of phones with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It seems that early 2025 will bring us a slightly more affordable variant for gamers: the ROG Phone 9 FE model, which likely stands for “Fan Edition.” If true, this edition will likely carry a more affordable price tag than the standard ROG Phone 9.
This phone was recently certified with model number ASUS_AI2401_N at the SIRIM (Malaysia), NBTC (Thailand), and SDPPI Indonesia pages. Today, images and detailed specifications of this smartphone have been shared on the web.

As you can see, the ROG Phone 9 FE will look similar to the ROG Phone 9 Pro. Rumors suggest this model will be available in Phantom Black, 8.9mm thick, weigh 225g, and feature the AirTrigger. This ultrasonic sensor can be used to control or command the ROG Phone to perform various functions in games or the system.
Tempting Key Specifications
The ROG Phone 9 FE will be powered by a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. It comes with the Android 15 operating system out of the box.

It will feature a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED Full-HD+ display with a 165Hz refresh rate, which will increase to 185Hz when playing Game Genie. The display will have a peak brightness of 2,500 nits and come with Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Regarding photography, the ROG Phone 9 FE will have a quality triple camera system on the back, including a 50MP main sensor (Sony IMX890 with OIS), a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP macro camera. The front of the phone has a 32MP camera for users to take selfies and video calls. Powering the phone is a 5500mAh battery with 65W wired charging and wireless charging.

Other highlights include stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Hi-Res Audio, Wi-Fi 7, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The smartphone will also be IP68-rated for water and dust resistance.
At this moment, the price is still unknown and it is not yet clear when the smartphone will be presented. However, I would say that ASUS will start a teasing campaign in the coming days.
