Leading Version Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Powered by the Leading Version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the new flagship offers unrivaled performance. The chipset is the overclocked Snapdragon Gen 3 chip Qualcomm makes for Samsung Galaxy devices, and it’s making its way to more Android devices including the REDMAGIC 9S Pro.

Enhanced Cooling System: ICE 13.5

With the addition of a new thermal gel layer, the new ICE 13.5 cooling system ensures even better efficiency than its predecessor, allowing your phone to stay cool during extended gaming sessions. Tests conducted by the REDMAGIC Lab show that the frost cooling gel lowers the motherboard temperature by approximately 1.5°C and boosts the peak power of the entire device by 0.3W.

New Gaming Features

We’ve highlighted that the REDMAGIC 9S Pro’s hardware is no joke, but what’s new in the software department? Adding to the already huge list of features you can find in REDMAGIC’s Game Space, the REDMAGIC 9S Pro is packed with some new, rather interesting gaming features.

Free Display

This feature forces games to either go landscape or portrait, allowing you to play in the aspect ratio that suits you best. Definitely an interesting feature, as you can play games like Subway Surfers, which is normally played in portrait, to landscape mode. Utilizing this mode might give you a unique angle, which lets you see things you normally wouldn’t be able to see.

Pre-download

This lets you download game updates in the background or even with your screen off, so you're always ready to play. As games are becoming more and more frequently updated due to the amount of content added each month, this is a great quality of life feature that lets you minimize your game, or even turn the screen off, to download in the background. 

Game Space Always On Display 

When you use Game Space and rotate your device to landscape mode, turning off the screen activates a new always-on display mode. This feature showcases the time, game stats from the last 24 hours, recent REDMAGIC Moment screenshots, or customized notes. 

Super Wallpapers

Enjoy special interactive wallpapers that double as a mini-game, giving you a fun way to kill time. You can find a lot of classic games like snake or a flappy bird clone with REDMAGIC’S mascot Mora.

The Unbeatable 6,500 mAh Battery

During our personal tests and reviews, the device’s battery delivered up to two days of power with regular, non-gaming related use. This is a top tier battery capacity, and it’s the reason the Android Police described the REDMAGIC 9 Pro as having “more power than you can use'' back in December. A battery like this is a game changer in gaming smartphones. 

When the time comes and you finally need to recharge the battery, it also boasts the same 80W fast charging capabilities as its predecessor, so you can top up and get back to gaming in no time.

A Beautiful 6.8" Bezel-less Screen Like No Other

REDMAGIC has utilized under-display camera technology since REDMAGIC 7 series, and it’s been one of the most unique ways to give gamers a truly full screen experience with no punch holes or notches. Because of the clean bezel-less screen, it delivers the perfect display for media consumption whether you are gaming, watching videos, or scrolling through social media. 

The downside to this type of display, as fans have found over the years, is the quality of the selfie camera. However, as many of them have also pointed out, if you’re buying a gaming phone, you probably aren’t worried about that anyway.

RGB Cooling Turbo Fan

REDMAGIC’s signature RGB Turbo Fan which got a boost from 20,000 rpm in previous versions, to 22,000 on the REDMAGIC 9 Pro, makes a welcomed comeback to help cool the insides of the REDMAGIC 9S Pro device when gaming or fast charging. This fan may look small but it really does help with the performance of the phone, to prevent it from thermal throttling.
