    Heyup Boxe projector, review

    Hi everyone!

Here is my review of the Heyup Boxe. I took a bit of time to do it because I wanted to use it in different conditions before writing my review.

First, here is my grade: 3,75/5

The appearance is nice and pretty cute, but some would have preferred a little white or black projector that would have been more discreet and more suitable for various interior decorations.

The connections are pretty nice. You can easily connect it to a videogame console, a computer, a mac or even an iPad or an iPhone. However, using Airplay is almost impossible, but I will explain that a bit later.

The projector is very easy to set up. you can easily readjust the size and the form of the projection. However, it is indispensable to the tripod that was unfortunately not provided for the test. Indeed, without a little tripod, it is very challenging to incline correctly the projector.

Concerning the performance the display performance, the image is pretty good, and the quality if 1080p, which is very good for such a small projector. The colours are nice, and the brightness is correct. Indeed it is a small and light projector, very easy to carry. It is very rare to have such display performance for a projector of this size and of this price. 199$ is a correct price. The connections are rich, the image is good and bright and the projector is very easy to carry.

Globally the projector is also pretty silent and does not warm too much. The sound is acceptable, we can expect a lot from such…

    HeyupBoxe review...ish

I have to say that I’m not huge into projectors and I’m just getting started in the field. I am mainly a gamer since the 90’s. Where refresh rate is king for the frames per second. I mainly sit in the dark and use blackout curtains along with using tin foil on my windows. So I can get almost pitch black rooms. (so if you’re looking for information on brightness of picture during day time, this review is not for you).

Ok, form factor. Not exactly a huge fan. It is nice and compact and I can palm the Boxe. (which is kind of useless as peoples hands vary in size). I do have to say that the color I am not a fan of. I would prefer it to be something like “prisonmate orange”. It does fit nice in a multitude of my backpacks. I have to say there would be better formfactors for traveling especially if you are wanting to bring a laptop along with the Boxe.

*btw this review is not as extensive as I would like, testing takes time.

The sound coming from the “onboard” speakers is fairly decent, especially considering the formfactor of the Boxe. It isnt’ as loud as I would like and fidelity leaves a lot to be desired. I have synced up a pair of wireless headphones via BT. I have not noticed any lag between screen and sound via BT. There is a bit of “muddiness” in the sound, but that could be the pair of headphones I am using.

Power. Well, leaves a lot to be desired. Originally they sent me the UK plug so I tried charging my Boxe with a USB-C cable and various chargers. It did not work…
