Oppo Reno 13 and 13 Pro Launched: Mid-Range Smartphones With Attractive Features
OPPO has launched a new mid-range smartphone, the OPPO Reno13 Series 5G, consisting of the OPPO Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro, which still focuses on portrait photography. The addition is that it can also take underwater photos! It also comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset and a 50MP zoom camera (only for the Pro model!).
Solid mid-range smartphones
The OPPO Reno13 Series comes with a new body design that increases the ability to resist water and dust with IP69, IP68, and IP66 at the same time, so that it can work underwater.
In the underwater photography mode, the device can be submerged in water, take pictures, and emerge from the water to turn on the sound to expel water. In addition, the device uses a more premium design than before, with an aluminum alloy body frame and a glass camera frame that is smooth and matches the back cover of the device.
The OPPO Reno13 features a 6.59-inch flat display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and support for 3840Hz PWM dimming. Meanwhile, the OPPO Reno13 Pro features a 6.83-inch slightly curved display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and the same 3840Hz PWM dimming support.
The camera, in addition to focusing on portraits, also emphasizes the shooting of Live Photos. The shooting of Live Photos can select the best frame as the cover image of the Live Photo and still maintains the ProXDR brightness characteristics.
In addition, there is a Soft Light filter for portraits (as seen in the Find X8 Series), and can use continuous filters in Live Photos. And can also add a watermark to Live Photos to make the Live Photo look like a 'Moving Polaroid' or a moving Polaroid image. You can also send this Live Photo to iOS devices by tapping to send across devices (you should probably download the O+ Connect app as now).
Besides, the Reno13 Pro model also has a stage shooting feature added, which can shoot at 3.5x the distance that the lens can handle (about 80mm).
In addition, the AI features in the OPPO Reno13 Series also provide new features as complete as in the Find X8 Series, with the same AI Photo Remaster feature, consisting of AI Clarity Enhancer to increase image resolution to be clearer, AI Reflection Remover that will remove reflections in images we take with AI, AI Unblur that will use AI to fix blurry images to be clearer with a single press.
In terms of camera specs, the OPPO Reno13 will have a 50MP main camera (f / 1.8) with OIS an 8MP wide-angle camera (f / 2.2), and a 50MP ultra-sensitive front camera (f / 2.0). Meanwhile, the Reno 13 Pro will have a 50MP telephoto zoom camera (f / 2.8) at 80mm and OIS stabilization.
Both the OPPO Reno13 and OPPO Reno13 Pro are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, which is more efficient while being more power-efficient than its predecessor (8000 series), and is complemented by OPPO's own self-developed connectivity chip, the 'OPPO X1', along with 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM on both models, and the same 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB UFS 3.1 storage.
The OPPO Reno13 battery comes with a 5,600mAh battery and 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, while the Reno13 Pro comes with a 5,800mAh battery, 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.
Prices and colors
In China, the OPPO Reno13 and Reno13 Pro have been launched in three colors each: Reno13 will be available in Butterfly Purple, Galaxy Blue, and Midnight Black. While the Reno13 Pro will come in Butterfly Purple, Starlight Pink, and Midnight Black.
The Reno 13 is priced at 2,699 yuan ($372), for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Reno 13 Pro is priced at 3,399 yuan, just under ($470), for the same memory configuration. Both phones are available for pre-order in China at Oppo's online store, with shipments expected to begin on November 29.
