PICO Space Pro Design Fully Revealed in Leaked Regulatory Filings Ahead of Launch
In an unexpected development for the extended reality hardware market, the complete internal and external design of the upcoming PICO Space Pro has been fully exposed through official Japanese regulatory filings. The leak suggests that the company is actively preparing to bring the next-generation headset to market much sooner than previously anticipated.

First spotted by industry publication UploadVR, the schematics and imagery were submitted under certification number 202-JWM032. The files were made publicly accessible via Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), the government agency responsible for certifying electronic and radio communication equipment, similar in role to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States.
The PICO Space Pro was previously tracked under the internal codename Project Swan. Although official launch schedules had not yet been formally confirmed by the manufacturer, earlier speculation and projections had pointed to a prospective launch window in the fourth quarter of 2026. However, the emergence of finalized hardware documentation points toward a significantly accelerated rollout planned for this year.
Reinforcing expectations of a near-term debut, the hardware has now surfaced in both Japanese regulatory databases and FCC filings. The simultaneous appearance of the device across multiple major international certification authorities typically signals that development and compliance testing are largely complete, indicating that an official announcement could take place at any moment.
Looking at the leaked schematics, which feature are you hoping to see most: upgraded pancake optics, higher-resolution micro-OLED panels, or lighter weight?
