Samsung's First Smart Glasses Leaked: Snapdragon AR1, Designer Frames, and November Launch
Samsung is preparing to enter the wearable eyewear market with its first pair of smart glasses, anticipated to launch this November. Recent leaks indicate that the tech giant is teaming up with prominent eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker to deliver a broad selection of stylish frames that blend modern fashion with ambient intelligence.

Weighing around 41 grams with standard lenses, the glasses are noticeably lighter than previously reported targets of 46 to 50 grams, though exact weights will vary depending on frame choices and prescription lenses. Samsung's collaboration with Gentle Monster will include 6 frame shapes and 16 frame-and-lens combinations across colors such as black, burgundy, cream, and light violet. Meanwhile, the Warby Parker lineup will introduce the Alden, Reid, and Wren styles in deep green, reddish-brown, and jet black, offering clear or tinted sunglass options alongside an exclusive deep blue charging case.

On the hardware front, the wearable is powered by Qualcomm's first-generation Snapdragon AR1 platform, supported by 2GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. Imaging capabilities are driven by an integrated 12-megapixel camera capable of recording 3K video at 30 frames per second, catering to users who want seamless, hands-free content capture.
Unlike traditional augmented reality headsets, Samsung's upcoming device omits a visual display screen in favor of an audio-first interface. It features dual open-ear speakers and a four-microphone array designed for voice calls and voice-driven interactions with Google Gemini. The frames offer up to 9 hours of battery life on a single charge, reaching a total of 72 hours when paired with the charging case, and are rated IPX4 for resistance against sweat and light rain.

In terms of compatibility, advanced Galaxy-exclusive features will require smartphones running One UI 9 or later and Galaxy Watches running Wear OS 7 or later. However, fundamental functions remain broadly accessible to other Android devices and iPhones. Region-specific features include voice navigation via Naver Maps for users in South Korea.

Targeted at consumers aged 18 and older, the Gentle Monster editions will be distributed in the United States and South Korea, while the Warby Parker models will remain exclusive to the US market. By prioritizing lightweight comfort, extended battery life, and designer aesthetics over a bulky display, Samsung appears poised to offer a practical, daily-wear competitor in the rapidly expanding smart eyewear category.
