Honor 500 Series

Honor has officially announced its next major product launch event for the new Honor 500 series, which is scheduled for November 24th at 19:30. Alongside the date, the company revealed that popular actor Xiao Zhan will be the brand ambassador for the new lineup. The biggest news, however, came directly from an executive, confirming a standout feature for the upcoming phones.

In a recent social media post, Honor's Product Manager, using the handle @汤达人TF, confirmed that the entire Honor 500 series will feature a massive 8000mAh battery. This significant capacity will be standard across all models, signaling a strong focus on battery life and endurance. The post also unveiled the official names of the devices: the Honor 500 Super Pro Version and the Honor 500 Super Standard Version.

Honor 500 Series

Ahead of the official launch, key specifications for both models have been revealed, subject to final confirmation. The Honor 500 Super Pro Version is expected to be the premium offering. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and feature a 6.55-inch 2736*1264p 1.5K+ 120Hz flat display with 3840Hz PWM dimming. Its rear camera setup includes a 200Mp 1/1.4" main sensor, a 12Mp ultra-wide lens, and a 50Mp IMX856 3X 68mm telephoto lens, with a 50Mp front camera. Complementing the 8000mAh battery is 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. Additional features include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a metal frame, stereo dual speakers, C1+ and E2 enhancement chips, and an IP68/IP69/IP69K protection rating.

The Honor 500 Super Standard Version will reportedly run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen4 processor and share the same 6.55-inch 1.5K+ 120Hz screen. The camera system features the same 200Mp 1/1.4" main sensor and 12Mp ultra-wide camera on the rear, along with a 50Mp front camera. It also includes the 8000mAh battery but supports 80W wired charging only. Other shared features include the metal middle frame, stereo dual speakers, an E2 energy efficiency enhancement chip, and the same robust IP68/IP69/IP69K protection.

With a shared focus on unprecedented battery capacity, the Honor 500 series is set to make a significant impact on the smartphone market. The primary differences between the Pro and Standard versions appear to lie in the choice of processor, the inclusion of a telephoto lens, and wireless charging support on the Pro model. All eyes will be on the November 24th event for the official unveiling and complete details.
