GEEKOM A5 2027 Mini PC Launches With Ryzen 7 7730U and Three Storage Slots
GEEKOM has announced the A5 2027, a new mini PC built around AMD’s Ryzen 7 7730U processor and a surprisingly flexible internal storage setup.
The chip is an 8-core Barcelo R processor, and the system is clearly aimed at users who want a compact desktop for everyday productivity, home office work, light creative tasks, or media use without moving to a full-size PC.
A Compact Metal Mini PC
The GEEKOM A5 2027 measures 4.61 x 4.41 x 1.94 inches, keeping the footprint small enough for a desk, TV setup, or compact workstation.
Inside, GEEKOM uses a one-piece all-metal internal frame, which should help the system feel more solid and improve structural durability. The company also equips the mini PC with its IceBlast 3.0 cooling system.
Noise levels are listed at 28dB at idle and 32dB under heavier load. If those numbers hold up in real use, the A5 2027 should stay fairly quiet for an always-on desktop or living room setup.
Three Drive Slots in a Small Body
The most useful feature may be storage expansion.
The A5 2027 includes:
- One M.2 2280 slot supporting PCIe Gen3 x4 or SATA III
- One M.2 2242 slot supporting SATA III
- One 2.5-inch 7mm SATA III drive bay
That gives users three storage positions in a very small machine. It is a practical advantage for people who want a compact PC that can still handle a system drive, extra SSD, and larger media or backup storage.
The system also includes two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots, so memory should be upgradeable rather than permanently soldered.
Plenty of Ports for a Mini PC
GEEKOM also gives the A5 2027 a broad port selection.
External I/O includes three USB-A 10Gbps ports, two USB-C 10Gbps ports, one USB-A 480Mbps port, two HDMI 2.0 ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, a 2.5GbE RJ-45 port, and an SD card reader.
Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.
For a mini PC, that is a strong mix. The dual HDMI ports make multi-monitor setups easier, while 2.5GbE and SD card support give the A5 2027 more flexibility for home servers, media workflows, or small office setups.
Part of a Bigger IFA Lineup
GEEKOM also used IFA 2026 to show several other systems, including the A9 Mega four-machine cluster, an A9 Mega model with AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 388 and 64GB of memory, the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H-based IT13 Mega, and the GeekBook X16 Pro laptop with AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470.
That makes the A5 2027 look like the practical member of the lineup. It is not the most experimental or powerful product GEEKOM showed, but it may be one of the easiest to understand: a small PC with a familiar Ryzen chip and unusually good storage expansion.
