Microsoft Made Something Like The Mac mini
The little computer is a showcase for Windows 11 Arm
Project Volterra, introduced in the spring, is heading to stores. Microsoft and Qualcomm have baked a computer, which is finally called Windows Dev Kit 2023. The name already shows that the goal was not to create a computer for ordinary users (that would fall into the Surface series) but for developers.
The novelty is sold in the Microsoft Store for 699 euros. So far, it is available in eight countries. For Microsoft, this is the umpteenth attempt to break out of the “Wintel” box and show that its core product can run on Arm processors. The Dev Kit runs the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3, the best chip from Qualcomm.
