DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Rumors Intensify: Upgraded Sensor and December Release on the Horizon

According to a post on the X platform by leaker Hakasushi on November 10, DJI is set to release a surprising product in December. The product in question has not been updated for 2 years and 2 months, strongly suggesting that the highly anticipated DJI Osmo Pocket 4 handheld gimbal camera could be launched next month.

Corroborating these rumors, reports from the tech outlet NoteBook Check today highlighted that details about the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 have been gradually leaking over the past few months. The latest leaked images suggest the new camera might be slightly longer than its predecessor. A notable design change includes the addition of two new physical buttons in the area where the flip screen is stored.

On the hardware front, the Osmo Pocket 4 is expected to feature a significant upgrade with the OmniVision OV50R40 sensor. This 1/1.3-inch sensor boasts a resolution of up to 50 megapixels and can achieve an impressive HDR dynamic range of 110dB in a single exposure, promising a substantial leap in image quality.

Further evidence from The New Camera indicates that the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has already entered its Beta testing phase. Leaked images show personnel conducting field tests with the device, suggesting that its operational stability is currently being evaluated ahead of a potential launch.

For context, its predecessor, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, was released at the end of 2023. It is equipped with a 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor, capable of shooting up to 4K@120FPS video and 9.4-megapixel photos. It also supports 10-bit D-log M and 10-bit HLG modes. Last month, its price was reduced to start at 2799 yuan.
