Renault is considering making an electric car in India, or an electric version of the Kwid, sources say
According to reports, French automaker Renault is considering the possibility of producing a mass-market electric car in India.
This move comes as the Indian government has made electric vehicles a priority and has promised billions of dollars in incentives to encourage companies to manufacture them locally.
Renault currently manufactures the Kwid hatchback, Kiger SUV, and seven-seat Triber in India. It is reportedly exploring the option of launching an electric version of the Kwid hatchback that would be made in India.
