Adidas Unveils 3D-Printed Climacool Laced Sneaker for $160

Adidas has released its latest innovation in footwear, the Climacool Laced sneaker, featuring 3D-printed technology. Priced at $160, this new model enhances the Climacool line with added functionality and design tweaks.

Following the initial launch of the 3D-printed Climacool in September 2024, which was initially exclusive to Confirmed platform users and later released globally in May for $140, Adidas continues to push the boundaries of athletic footwear.

The Climacool Laced distinguishes itself by incorporating traditional laces, allowing wearers to customize the fit according to their preferences. This addresses a key aspect of comfort and performance, providing a more tailored experience compared to the original slip-on design.

While the original Climacool was available only in off-white and featured a slip-on style, the Climacool Laced introduces a black tongue and laces, aligning more closely with conventional sneaker aesthetics. This design update comes with a slight price increase of $20, bringing the total to $160.

The primary structure of the shoe is still manufactured using 3D printing technology, a process Adidas states takes approximately 24 hours, involving rotation, baking, and compression of high-tech polymers.

The upper design of the Climacool Laced differs slightly from the slip-on version, featuring printed eyelets. However, the tongue and laces are made from different materials and are not 3D-printed.

The Climacool Laced will be available for purchase online through Adidas' Confirmed platform, as well as at select retailers and Adidas stores.
