Apple iOS 26 Introduces Icon Color-Changing Feature for iPhone 17/Pro Series

Apple has just released the iOS 26 RC version, with the official version set to launch on September 16. One of the most interesting new features is the ability to match the color of the iPhone 17/Pro series with the phone case.

When users long-press on the home screen and select the “Customize” option, they will find a new “Tinted” menu item featuring an iPhone case icon. Upon selection, the home screen icons will automatically adjust to match the color of the currently used phone case.

Technical Requirements

This feature relies on the iPhone’s ability to detect a MagSafe-compatible case. It appears to be exclusive to Apple’s official cases. If the phone case does not display a MagSafe animation ring upon installation, the icon color-changing feature may not work. Users can also manually select a color that matches their phone case or the device’s original color.
