Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro Leaks Reveal Major Redesign and Innovative Head Gesture Controls

Samsung's next generation of high-end true wireless earbuds is taking shape, with leaks pointing to a potential launch in early 2026 alongside the Galaxy S26 series. An internal build of One UI 8.5 has provided a detailed look at the upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, which will succeed the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro released in mid-2024, and the standard Galaxy Buds 4. The leaks suggest significant changes, including a major design overhaul and the introduction of powerful new features.

While the Buds 4 series is expected to retain the stem-based design introduced with the Galaxy Buds 3, it will feature key refinements. According to reports, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro (internally codenamed "Bach") will move away from the current sharp, triangular stem. Instead, it will adopt a flatter and simpler shape. In a further move towards a more minimalist aesthetic, the signature "blade-style" LED light strip will be removed. The standard Galaxy Buds 4 (codename "Handel") is expected to follow a similar design evolution.

The redesign extends to the charging case and the earbuds' fit. Leaked animations reveal that Samsung is abandoning the traditional vertical placement for the earbuds. The new case will have the earbuds lie flat inside, a change aimed at improving stability and overall ergonomics. Furthermore, animations of redesigned ear tips suggest Samsung is also focusing on enhancing wearing comfort and passive noise cancellation performance for the new models.

Perhaps the most significant new feature revealed is "Head Gestures" for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Code strings indicate this functionality will be deeply integrated into the system, going far beyond the simple call answering seen in some competing products. Users will be able to control a wide range of system-level interactions simply by nodding or shaking their head.

This new hands-free control method will allow users to answer or reject calls, notifications, and system alerts; trigger or stop voice readouts of notifications; dismiss alarms, timers, and reminders; provide quick "yes/no" responses to prompts; end conversations with AI voice assistants; and maintain control when their phone is out of reach. Other confirmed features for the upcoming earbuds include 360° spatial audio recording, Adaptive Noise Control, "Find My Phone" integration, and quick pairing across phones and tablets.
