vivo Enters the Handheld Gimbal Camera Market with a Vlog Camera Launch Expected Next Year

On August 22, reports revealed that smartphone giant Vivo is actively entering the handheld gimbal camera market. The company launched the project at the end of last year, and its first product has already completed the molding process. According to the current timeline, the product is expected to debut next year. This move marks Vivo’s expansion from mobile imaging expertise into imaging accessories and standalone devices.

The product is positioned as a vlog camera, aiming to provide a more stable and user-friendly handheld shooting solution for content creators, Vloggers, and photography enthusiasts. It will directly compete in the rapidly growing market currently dominated by products from companies like DJI and Insta360.

At the vivo Vision event and Imaging Festival on August 21, vivo announced a comprehensive upgrade of its imaging strategy. This upgrade includes four main aspects: transforming imaging from a tool to a cultural carrier, expanding from single scenarios to integrated scenarios, shifting from professional to mass use, and evolving from technology to an ecosystem.

Meanwhile, vivo's image security protection features will be launched in its products in the second half of the year. In the field of imaging health, vivo is about to introduce a portable professional slit lamp (exploration version). Additionally, vivo is working on 3D images and spatial videos shot with vivo phones, which will be integrated with vivo Vision to create a seamless cross-device imaging experience.
