Acemagic's Z1A Laptop Presented With Two Screens at Computex`

Computex 2024 — Dual-screen laptops are nothing new, but German company Acemagic, initially specializing in mini-PC design, has taken a slightly different approach with its Z1A laptop.

Two 14.1-inch screens

As shown in the photo below offered by the site TechPowerUp, it has a pair of 14.1-inch 1080p IPS screens placed side by side. They are not, a priori , designed for antics, but offer a nice display area.

The whole thing is certainly a little imposing unfolded, but once closed, the machine has the size of a classic laptop PC; certainly, certainly not the most slender. We have'nt details about the dimensions of this laptop, but give its weight: 1.8 kg.

For the rest of the specifications, the computer is not equipped with a high-end processor. The brand has opted for a 12th-generation Intel Core chip, in other words an Alder Lake. Customers have the choice between a Core i7-1265U or i7-1255U. No dedicated GPU, they have to make do with the Iris Xe iGPU. The processor collaborates with LPPDR4 memory.

As for storage space, there are two slots for M.2 2280 NVMe drives. The battery has a capacity of 40001mAh. Finally, in terms of connectivity, it is Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless; one USB 3.0, one HDMI 2.0, and two USB Type-C connectors for wired connections.

This PC is not yet listed on the Acemagic website. It only appears in an illustrative photo. We do not know its release date or its price.

Other Mini-PCs

Among the other products exhibited at the show by the brand, our colleagues spotted an M2A mini-PC which looks like a spaceship out of a science fiction film or, more prosaically, like certain routers. Here again, the machine contains an Alder Lake CPU (Core i7-12700H or i7-12900H) but is associated with DDR5-4800 this time.

In addition, the machine has a laptop graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060M, 3070M, or 3080M. We find two M.2 PCIe NVMe slots. For connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 remain in the game. The I/O, however, is more provided with six USB 3.2 ports, two HDMI 2.0, one USB Type-C, and two RJ45 ports.

RGB enthusiasts can also set their sights on the M1A. This mini-PC is a copy of the aforementioned M2A but in another format.

Finally, the brand is exhibiting a few mini-PCs with a more conventional design and in an NUC form factor. Let's take this opportunity to point out that Asus recently launched an NUC 14 Performance. Unlike other PCs, the F1A PC is entitled to the very latest Intel Meteor Lake chips; to a Core Ultra 5 125H or Core Ultra 7 155H.
