From Automotive to Apex Gaming: Tokai Rika's ZENAIM Unveils the KEYBOARD 2

Tokai Rika, a major Japanese manufacturer renowned for producing automotive components like switches, key locks, and steering wheels for industry giants such as Toyota and Honda, has made a significant stride into an entirely different arena. This venture is spearheaded by ZENAIM, a gaming peripheral brand that the company co-founded in 2023.

Following the successful launch of its debut "solid aluminum" low-profile magnetic switch keyboard last year, ZENAIM has now introduced its next-generation model. On August 18, 2025, the company officially unveiled the ZENAIM KEYBOARD 2, which builds upon the foundation of its predecessor while introducing key refinements.

The ZENAIM KEYBOARD 2 stays true to the brand's minimalist design philosophy, retaining the same acclaimed switch technology and sleek aesthetic. It is available in two popular compact layouts: a mini (60%) version priced at 29,800 JPY and a Tenkeyless (TKL, 80%) version for 36,000 JPY

ZENAIM has focused on tangible upgrades for its second-generation model. A primary improvement is the enhanced durability of the keycap legends, ensuring they withstand intensive, long-term use. Additionally, the keyboard’s acoustic profile has been significantly refined for a more satisfying typing experience and sound.

To achieve this superior sound dampening, the KEYBOARD 2 now features a dual-layer internal foam solution. The original Nitto EPTSEALER EPDM foam rubber is now complemented by an additional layer of Inoue CALMFLEX polyurethane, creating a quieter and more solid sound signature without sacrificing performance.

By optimizing material costs without compromising build quality, ZENAIM has made the KEYBOARD 2 a more accessible option than its predecessor. This launch solidifies ZENAIM's position as a serious contender in the premium peripheral market, showcasing a successful and impressive crossover from the automotive industry with a product that blends minimalist design with precision engineering.
