nubia has just unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the nubia Z80 Ultra, set to launch on October 22 at 2 p.m., underscoring its cutting-edge performance in both photography and overall functionality.

In the official announcement, Nubia revealed a series of stunning promotional images showcasing three color variants of the Z80 Ultra: Midnight Black, Condensed White, and the exclusive Starry Sky Collector's Edition. Advanced Imaging Capabilities

Zhang Lei, Vice President of ZTE and General Manager of Nubia's Flagship Products, has teased the Z80 Ultra's advanced camera features on social media. The device will feature a custom 35mm focal length paired with a large sensor, optimized for difficult lighting conditions. Whether it's backlighting, low light, or night scenes, the camera promises exceptional high dynamic range and highly detailed images with an atmospheric feel. Additionally, the AI-powered imaging technology aims to significantly enhance the user experience. 

Powerful Performance

Under the hood, the nubia Z80 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Ultra processor, providing top-tier performance. It features a 144Hz ultra-high refresh rate display for smooth visuals and is equipped with a new generation of under-screen camera Dual "Main Cameras" technology. it comes with a standard 90W fast charging adapter, which is expected to significantly reduce charging times and enhance user convenience.

The device boasts an impressive dual-camera system with two "main" cameras in terms of both quality and functionality:

  • A 35mm large-sensor main camera

  • A 1/1.55” large-sensor ultra-wide-angle camera

Comparison with nubia Z70 Ultra

To provide some context, the nubia Z70 Ultra, which preceded the Z80 Ultra, offered a screen-under camera design for a true full-screen experience. Priced from $729 the Z70 Ultra was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Ultra chip and featured LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 storage. It also included a 6,150mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
