Huawei has officially unveiled the WATCH Ultimate 2, a revolutionary wearable device, at the 4th International Summit on BeiDou Navigation Satellite System Application. In a significant leap for remote communication, this new smartwatch stands as the world's first terminal to support BeiDou satellite voice messaging.

This groundbreaking feature, developed in collaboration with China Time-co, allows users to send voice messages via satellite even in remote areas completely devoid of mobile network coverage. While its predecessor, the first-generation WATCH Ultimate, introduced two-way BeiDou satellite text messaging, the Ultimate 2 elevates this capability by enabling voice communication. This allows users to convey critical information quickly and efficiently without the need for typing, a crucial advantage in outdoor and emergency situations.

The successful implementation of satellite voice messaging is built upon three key technological breakthroughs. First is a Huawei self-developed AI voice codec, which applies a high compression ratio to voice data within seconds while preserving clarity and recognizability. Second, an innovative transport layer multi-frame joint technology significantly increases the data capacity of a single satellite message, allowing more compressed voice content to be sent at once. Finally, Huawei has achieved targeted enhancement of the terminal antenna's performance, optimizing its design to ensure a stable and reliable satellite connection despite the compact internal space of a smartwatch.

Beyond its satellite capabilities, the WATCH Ultimate 2, which was previously released overseas, also boasts enhanced features for diving enthusiasts. It offers 150-meter water resistance and introduces Dolphin Sonar Communication for the first time. This technology enables users to send messages to each other at depths of up to 30 meters and transmit an SOS signal from as deep as 60 meters, providing an invaluable layer of safety and communication for underwater activities.

Huawei WATCH Ultimate 2 redefines the boundaries of what a smartwatch can do.
