Leaked: Intel's New Core G3 Processor Aims to Power Next-Gen Gaming Handhelds

Recent reports have brought exciting news to the portable gaming world, revealing details of Intel's upcoming processor designed specifically for handheld gaming devices—the Core G3. This move signals Intel's serious intent to compete in a rapidly growing market.

At the heart of this new offering is the "Panther Lake H12Xe" silicon. The Core G3 is built on a hybrid architecture, featuring a configuration of 2 Performance-cores (P-cores), 8 Efficiency-cores (E-cores), and 2 Low-Power Efficiency-cores (LP-E-cores). This structure is designed to offer a balance between high-end gaming performance and battery efficiency, which is critical for on-the-go gaming.

Interestingly, this configuration represents a slightly scaled-down version of the full Panther Lake chip, with two Efficiency-cores disabled. This strategic decision likely helps Intel optimize the processor for the specific thermal and power constraints of a compact handheld form factor, positioning it effectively in its target market segment.

On the graphics front, the processor will integrate a powerful GPU component dubbed the Alchemist Arc B380. The naming convention suggests that it is a moderately underclocked version of the Arc B390, further reinforcing the focus on achieving an optimal performance-per-watt ratio for portable devices.

The Core G3 is reportedly being positioned as a mid-range solution for the handheld market. To cater to a wider audience, Intel also appears to be planning a more entry-level model. This more accessible version is expected to feature an Alchemist Arc B360 GPU, providing a more budget-friendly option for consumers.
