OnePlus Ace 5 Pro to Launch as Cheapest Snapdragon 8 Elite Smartphone
OnePlus recently introduced its flagship OnePlus 13 with a powerful chipset and impressive cameras, but for those looking for something more budget-friendly, the brand is preparing the Ace 5 series. The new models are rumored to get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Pro version is the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite. Insiders have already shared information about the key features of both models, including from the Digital Chat Station.
OnePlus Ace 5 Pro is said to be the most affordable smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Elite, and the starting price could be around $465. The Ace 5 will feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, supplied by BOE X2.
Inside the Ace 5 will be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal memory. A large battery with a capacity of more than 6000mAh with 100W fast charging is expected. Insiders also say that the new models will have 6300-6500mAh batteries.
The Pro version will get a similar display to the basic Ace 5, as well as a main camera with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 sensor and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 telephoto lens. The front camera in the Ace 5 will be 16MP, and the rear one will be triple (50MP + 8MP + 2MP), which is similar to the Ace 5 Pro.
The Ace 5 series is expected to debut in China as early as November or December this year. The Pro version is likely to remain exclusive to the Chinese market, while the Ace 5 model may get an international version called the OnePlus 13R.
Also, keep in mind that the OnePlus Ace 5 may be announced for the Asian market first, with a later release in Europe. So, for now, we'll just have to wait for further news from the manufacturer.
