Xiaomi MIX Flip Goes Global, With a Price of 1,299 Euros
Today in Berlin, Xiaomi officially presented not only the new series of Xiaomi T smartphones, or Xiaomi 14T but also the global version of the compact touch "cap" Xiaomi Mix Flip. Originally, this smartphone debuted at the end of July, but at that time only for the Chinese market.
With a launch price set at €1,299.90 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant, this device will be available in two colors, namely Black and Purple. Here’s a closer look at what the new Xiaomi Mix Flip will bring with it.
A pair of high-quality displays
Of course, a quality foldable smartphone cannot lack quality displays. And in this regard, the Xiaomi Mix Flip is definitely not idle. On the outside of the structure, there is an AMOLED display with the ability to display up to 68 billion colors, support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 +, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits, and a resolution of 1,392 x 1,208 pixels. Xiaomi was able to fit all this into a diagonal of only 4.01 inches.
There is a dedicated microphone and speaker around the external display, which means that you can comfortably make phone calls even when the phone is folded.
After opening the device, a view of the main display opens. It is a 6.86-inch panel with AMOLED technology and an LTPO layer. It therefore offers an adaptive refresh rate with a maximum limit of 120 Hz. You can count on a brightness of up to 3,000 nits, a resolution of 1,224 x 2,912 pixels, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. While it is rated to handle 500,000 folding cycles for long-term durability.
Flagship class performance
The interior of the device is also premium,. It features Qualcomm's high-performance Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is based on the 4nm manufacturing process. The maximum clock frequency reaches 3.3 GHz, which means enough juice for all possible tasks, both easier and more demanding. In addition to the processor, inside the Xiaomi Mix Flip we also find 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, as well as 12GB of fast operating memory. The also device has a 3D vapor chamber cooling system that optimizes thermal management during heavy use.
In terms of autonomy, the Mix Flip battery has a capacity of 4780mAh and supports 67W fast charging via HyperCharge technology. In addition, Xiaomi has implemented an advanced battery management system with Surge G1 and R1 chips, which allows it to maintain up to 80% of the capacity after 1600 charging cycles.
The MIX Flip's camera department, co-designed with Leica, consists of a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary camera with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). Next, the smartphone includes a 50MP telephoto lens with f/2.0 aperture that supports macro photography at a minimum distance of 9 cm. For selfies, it has a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
This assembly promises not only high-quality photos but also high-quality videos. The main lens can be used to record 8K videos at 24 FPS (frames per second), or 4K videos at 24, 30, or 60 FPS. FHD videos can be shot at 30, 60, 120, 240, or 960 FPS. Finally, it is also possible to record HD videos, with up to 1,920 FPS. The front camera can shoot 4K videos at 30 or 60 FPS and FHD videos at 30 or 60 FPS.
On the software side, the Xiaomi Mix Flip is powered by the latest generation Android operating system ( Android 14 ), which cooperates with the HyperOS interface. Finally, we can mention connectivity, which includes support for 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. The icing on the cake is the slot for two SIM cards.
