Oppo Find N5 Will Be Thinner Than a Pencil, Here's What We Know

We recently heard the first information about the OPPO Find N5/OnePlus Open 2 equipment. The phones will be mostly the same again, with IPX8 water resistance, 5800 to 6000mAh batteries, larger 8-inch and 6.4-inch LTPO displays expected, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, or three Hasselblad cameras. However, for flexible phones, reducing the size of the structure is still very important, which is needed more than for regular devices. Fortunately, we can expect great progress in this regard as well.

According to several sources, OPPO/OnePlus is supposed to be the thinnest foldable phone at least for the first half of 2025, and this is seemingly confirmed by the latest photos. First, a photo of the closed Find N5 was leaked, where we can see a comparison of the thinness with the flagship Find X8, and the phones are surprisingly similar.

Suddenly, one is not surprised that, according to the vice president of OPPO, we will see the thinnest foldable phone in the world. We can again see in the photo of the open Find N5, that the model is much thinner than an ordinary pencil in profile.

And what dimensions can we expect? The thinnest foldable phone currently is the Honor Magic V3, which is 9.2 mm when closed and 4.4 mm when open. OPPO and OnePlus must therefore surpass these values. This is theoretically confirmed by the famous leaker Digital Chat Station, who talked in general about upcoming flexible phones from Chinese brands.

Possible specifications

According to the leaker, thinness, lightness and a large battery will be the main features of foldable phones this year. The thinnest foldable phone is supposed to be just 8.X mm when closed, which could be OPPO/OnePlus. The model with the largest battery will have a capacity of 6000mAh, with support for 80W or 100W wired fast charging, along with 50W wireless charging. The device is expected to run on the Android 15 operating system with a ColorOS 15 user interface.

The phones will also retain their periscopic telephoto lenses or wireless charging. However, other cameras and other specifications may fall victim to equipment cuts so that the price does not increase too quickly. The leaker has already mentioned that many flagship foldable phones will only have an 8MP wide-angle sensor this year, which is shameful for such expensive devices, but apparently necessary. Previous leaks have suggested that the OPPO Find N5 display will support a sharp 2K resolution.

According to a recent post by Zhou Yibao, Oppo's product manager, the official launch of OPPO Find N5 is expected in the third week of February.
