Galaxy S27 privacy display brings higher brightness to Pro

The Galaxy S27 privacy display will expand to the S27 Pro alongside the Ultra with upgraded outdoor brightness, targeting premium smartphone users who demand confidential viewing on the go. However, standard Galaxy S27 and S27+ models will miss out entirely on the hardware feature.

Expanding Privacy Display Beyond the Ultra Lineup

Samsung initially introduced its integrated privacy display technology on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, prompting several competing brands to implement comparable solutions across their own flagship hardware. According to recent reports, Samsung is now preparing an upgraded revision of this display feature for the upcoming Galaxy S27 series.

For the first time, Samsung is expected to expand the specialized display hardware beyond its top-of-the-line tier. Both the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are slated to feature the privacy screen functionality, making secure on-screen viewing accessible across two separate premium configurations.

Higher Peak Brightness and Model Exclusions

In addition to expanding hardware availability, Samsung is refining the underlying privacy screen technology. The updated panel is engineered to deliver higher display brightness, resolving a common limitation of privacy filters by enabling users to view screen content clearly even under direct sunlight.

Despite widening access to the Pro tier, the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ will not receive the privacy display hardware. Samsung intends to maintain this display feature as an exclusive selling point reserved strictly for its highest-end flagship models.

Do you consider built-in privacy display hardware an essential feature for everyday use, or should Samsung make it standard across all Galaxy S models rather than reserving it for the Pro and Ultra?
