Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro Official In China and Globally Very Soon

After many rumors and the first images leaked recently, OPPO has launched the Find X8 series smartphones in China, which feature a new Hasselblad Master camera system and a series of advanced features. The two new models are shaping up to be candidates for the "phone of the year" title. The Chinese company has gone for a redesigned look this year with the more compact Find X8 that comes with the Find X8 Pro.

Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro global launch

Finally, as confirmed during the presentation event, both models will also arrive in a Global version very soon.

Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro

Two very similar devices, which share a good part of the technical specifications, except for some differences in the photographic sector, in the display and in the battery but which, above all, have in common the new Mediatek Dimensity 9400 processor which guarantees excellent performance and will allow users to use many functions based on the artificial intelligence of Oppo AI. Let's find out all the details.

OPPO Find X8

The new OPPO Find X8 is a high-end Android smartphone featuring a design quite in line with the current trend, that is, following the ingot concept inaugurated a few years ago by the iPhone, complete with a slider for selecting the mode (silent/vibrate/ring), in full OnePlus style of the old days, on the left edge.

At the back, a large circular porthole dominates, which matches the color of the device and protrudes a few millimeters from the body: inside, arranged on three of the four vertices of a rhombus, we find the three photographic sensors that make up the main compartment, which we will talk about shortly; other elements that undermine the cleanliness of the back are the LED flash, located at the top left, and the brand of the Chinese manufacturer, located at the bottom.

The main photographic compartment, co-engineered with HASSELBLAD as per tradition, boasts three 50MP sensors: the main sensor, optically stabilized, is flanked by an ultra-wide angle and a periscopic telephoto lens (optically stabilized) that allows 3x optical zoom. The front camera is 32MP and supports PDAF, paving the way for the “advanced” 2D face unlock.

The sensor is set inside a circular hole, centered at the top of the large flat display, a 6.59-inch Flexible LTPO AMOLED with a resolution of 1264 x 2780 pixels, peak brightness localized at 4500 nits (typical at 1600 nits) and a variable refresh rate from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. The panel, surrounded by fairly thin and symmetrical bezels, hides an optical fingerprint reader and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Under the hood, as anticipated in the opening, beats the Dimensity 9400 from MediaTek, one of the most cutting-edge SoCs of the moment, excellent for offering a lot of power and allowing you to make the most of the potential of artificial intelligence, including those present in the new ColorOS 15, the operating system that we find on board the device. The SoC is then flanked by up to 16GB of RAM (LPDDR5X) and up to 1TB of storage space (UFS 4.0).

Thanks to the SoC, the OPPO Find X8 is a fairly complete smartphone also in terms of connectivity, offering support for 5G (on multiple SIMs), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS (dual-band), multi-mode NFC, an infrared blaster (to control other devices) and a USB-C port without video output. The package is completed by the IP69 certification and a generous 5630mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 80W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

While it shares the same platform and many other specifications as its smaller brother, the OPPO Find X8 Pro is slightly larger and packs a few extra features that push it a step above.

The biggest difference lies in the photographic sector, which is even more interesting here and enriched by the presence of what is, to all intents and purposes, OPPO's answer to the Capture Button that Apple implemented on the iPhone 16: in addition to the three sensors present on its smaller brother, the OPPO Find X8 Pro gains an additional 50MP optically stabilized periscope telephoto lens that enables 6x optical zoom and can be very useful for taking macro shots and portraits.

Other differences lie in the display which, despite maintaining all the technical specifications, grows a little to reach 6.78 inches, in the battery, which remains silicon-carbon but pushes up to 5910mAh in capacity, in the USB-C port, which here supports the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard (and, by extension, video output) and in the support for magnetic accessories (such as wireless chargers, power banks) thanks to a cover made specifically for this purpose.
