Gigabyte Unveils Dual-Slot, Low Profile RTX 5050 OC 8G Graphics Card

Gigabyte is emerging as one of the most proactive consumer graphics card manufacturers in launching low-profile graphics cards. Immediately following NVIDIA's announcement of the GeForce RTX 5050 desktop GPU, Gigabyte has introduced its corresponding half-height card solution.

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5050 OC Low Profile 8G shares a similar design with the previous half-height RTX 5060. It features a triple small-fan cooler and measures 182×69×36 (mm). It is a dual-slot, half-height, full-length card, pre-installed with a full-height I/O bracket, and includes a replaceable half-height bracket.

While Gigabyte has not yet confirmed the core frequency of this graphics card, it has revealed the video output interface configuration, which is an unconventional combination of 1× DisplayPort 2.1b, 1× DisplayPort 1.4a, and 2× HDMI 2.1b.

Based on previous experience with the RTX 5060, ASUS, Zotac, and Maxsun are also expected to release low-profile half-height graphics cards based on the RTX 5050.

In conclusion, Gigabyte's new RTX 5050 OC Low Profile 8G offers a compact solution for users needing a powerful GPU in a small form factor, and other manufacturers are likely to follow suit with their versions.
