Insta360 Announces One-Click 360° Video Transfer to Apple Vision Pro, X5 Camera Coming to Apple Stores

Insta360 has officially announced a significant new development in its ecosystem collaboration with Apple, enhancing the immersive experience for Apple Vision Pro users. This update streamlines the process of viewing panoramic content on Apple's spatial computing headset.

The breakthrough is powered by visionOS 2 and its new media framework, the Apple Projected Media Profile (APMP), which was unveiled by Apple on September 10. This framework enables creators to play native 180°, 360°, and wide-angle videos directly on the Vision Pro, removing previous compatibility hurdles and simplifying the content pipeline.

As a long-term partner in the Apple ecosystem, Insta360 has updated its video processing software, Insta360 Studio, to support one-click export using the APMP protocol. This allows users to seamlessly transfer 360° video files to the Vision Pro via AirDrop for a fully immersive viewing experience, making it easier than ever to enjoy high-quality panoramic content.

This collaboration first began to take shape at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 25) in June. During the event, Apple announced that it was working with partners like Insta360, GoPro, and Canon to bring native video playback from jejich flagship devices to visionOS 2.

The partnership between Insta360 and Apple dates back to 2016 and has deepened over the years. In 2018, Insta360's first panoramic camera became the first of its kind to launch in the Apple Store. More recently, its AI-powered smartphone gimbal, the Flow Pro, was the first to support Apple's DockKit for automatic tracking, a feature that continues with the new Flow 2 Pro, further integrating with the Apple ecosystem.

Expanding its presence, Insta360 stated that 12 of its products have been sold in Apple Stores over the past seven years. In an exciting move for creators, the company also announced that its professional-grade panoramic camera, the Insta360 X5, will soon be available for purchase in Apple Stores.
