The most remarkable feature of the ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 is its incredibly lightweight design, tipping the scales at just 936 grams. This achievement makes it the lightest ThinkPad ever produced. Despite this significant reduction in weight, the laptop maintains the classic ThinkPad aesthetic, with an exterior design, port layout, and keyboard that are nearly identical to its predecessor, ensuring a familiar experience for long-time users.

Under the hood, the X13 Gen 7 is powered by a choice of AMD Ryzen AI Pro 400 series or Intel Core Ultra 300 series processors. The Intel version, in particular, is expected to deliver a substantial leap in performance and energy efficiency compared to the previous generation, promising enhanced productivity and longer battery life. Further catering to the modern professional, the laptop offers optional 4G/5G WWAN connectivity and comes with either a 41Wh or a 54.7Wh battery.

In terms of availability, prospective buyers can look forward to the Intel-powered models arriving in mid-May, with the AMD-equipped versions following shortly after in late May.
